Hello everyone back in Edmonton (/Canada)!!!!
We have had an amazing 3 days since we have arrived in Mexico City. We started off in Monte Sion on Saturday night and Sunday morning for the church service. Presently we are in Huixquilucan (Whiskilucan), about 2 hours away doing VBS in a small church. So far we have had a great turn out at our sessions, 24 kids the first day of VBS and 15 at the movie. Unfortunately, last night, there was a power outage in the community and we only got to show about 1/4 of the Jesus film. Tonight we are hopefully going to finish it for the people who came last night and hopefully more. Today we had an amazing expansion to our group as the 24 kids did come back, but there were also 16 more on top of that. 40 in total!!! Praise GOD! We have done 2 of our 3 days of VBS here so far and have gone incredibly well, and fast. Hayley has been such a blessing for her gift of being able to speak Spanish and also to interpret for us. (which is quite often). The team members are learing more from the Mexican people each day, including many who are coming along immensly in their spanish speaking.
We have been richly blessed with all the hospitality we have been shown throughout the time we have been here. Many nights, and afternoons, we have been invited for dinner and lunch. Not to mention all the people that have opened up their homes for us to stay in.
The first night we got there Pastor Jaime´s family provided dinner and after church on Sunday we were invited for a delicious lunch of Tomales at Fransicos house about 5 minutes away from the Monte Sion church. We also prayed over the family as they had just lost their sister in a battle of Cancer. We have had the privilage to pray over many other people we have come into contact with and also be prayed over for our ministry.
Because we only have a short amount of transition and free time between activities, we have to cut the blog short, but more is to come today! (hopefully)
Thank you so much for your prayers and thoughts.
